先週、2015年10月19日（月）〜23日（金）の5日間の日程で、イギリスを訪問した中国の習近平国家主席。

20日（火）は、バッキンガム宮殿でエリザベス女王主催の晩餐会が行われ、乾杯はイングリッシュ・スパークリングワイン、Ridgeview Grosvenor 2009 Brut/リッジヴュー・グロヴナー 2009 ブリュットが使用されました。

また、晩餐会の翌々日、22日（木）には、デイヴィッド・キャメロン首相はパブにて、イギリスのビール、Greene King IPA/グリーン・キングIPAとフィッシュ＆チップスで習近平国家主席をもてなしたとか。

ちなみにIPAは、ビールのカテゴリーでインディア・ペール・エール/India Ale Paleの頭文字をとったもの。
苦味が強くホップの風味が感じられ、一般的にはやや高めのアルコール度数を有するとされますが、一概にそればかりとはいえず、このグリーン・キングIPAのようにアルコール度数が低めのものもあります。
